While batteries are often considered prohibitively expensive technologies, they can perform a multitude of services that generate real savings and income throughout the year, while still backing up critical systems when outages do occur. Flow batteries, with an estimated lifetime of around 20 years, can often pay for themselves in less than 5 years, essentially providing resiliency and reliability for free.
This webinar featured experts from the flow battery company ViZn Energy Systems and energy management company Schneider Electric. They discussed the basics of flow batteries and how these technologies are being economically deployed in high electricity usage applications including universities, hospitals, and manufacturing plants.
