RPS Webinar: The Integration Challenge
August 28, 2012
1:00pm — 2:00pm Eastern
This webinar, presented by the Clean Energy States Alliance (CESA) for the State-Federal RPS Collaborative, focused on the challenge of integrating large quantities of renewable energy generation into regional electricity systems.
Lisa Schwartz, lead author for the recent Western Governors’ Association (WGA) report on Meeting Renewable Energy Targets at Least Cost: The Integration Challenge, discussed that report’s findings about ways to reduce costs of integrating renewables into the Western electric grid and recommendations for what states can do to overcome barriers to putting these cost-saving measures in place.
Ken Schuyler of PJM Inter-connection described PJM’s efforts to integrate renewables into its region and will comment on the WGA report. The presentations were followed by an audience Q&A.
