Streamlining Residential Solar Permitting Processes at the Municipal Level: Lessons from California
February 20, 2015
1:00pm — 2:00pm ET
The Clean Energy States Alliance hosted webinar on California’s approach to residential solar photovoltaic (PV) permitting. In September 2014, California Governor Jerry Brown signed into law Assembly Bill 2188, which requires California cities and towns to adopt streamlined permitting processes for residential solar PV. Guest speakers discussed why California pursued permitting legislation at the state level, what Assembly Bill 2188 mandates, and what lessons California’s experience may hold for other states. This webinar also featured a presentation on California’s recently updated California Solar Permitting Guidebook and its recommended process for expedited solar permitting for California municipalities.
- Bernadette Del Chiaro, Executive Director of the California Solar Energy Industries Association (CALSEIA)
- Tamara Gishri Perry, Senior Manager at the Center for Sustainable Energy
