In a special, Massachusetts-focused webinar series by CEG and CESA, experts answer your questions about energy storage. This third installment will address fire codes, environmental considerations, and security considerations that municipalities and planners should explore when designing a battery storage project in their communities.
States are increasingly adopting ambitious clean energy and climate goals, which will require both renewable generation and energy storage technologies. This webinar will feature two different state approaches to reducing emissions with energy storage.
Join CEG for an interactive 2-hour session exploring the best practices, opportunities, and obstacles in advancing resilient power – solar PV paired with battery storage (solar+storage) – in historically marginalized communities.
In 2023, the California Energy Commission (CEC) created the first-in-the-world flexible demand appliance standard for residential swimming pool controls. In this CESA webinar, guest speakers from the CEC will present their award-winning Flexible Demand Appliance Standards for Pool Controls program, featuring CEC Commissioner Andrew McAllister.

Because there were many more questions than we were able to answer on our March 1st webinar, “Interactions between Wind Turbines and Wildlife,” Clean Energy Group hosted a follow-up webinar to address additional questions from the audience. Taber Allison from the American Wind Wildlife Institute (AWWI) presented.
Ian Hoffman from LBNL discussed the lessons learned from low-income energy efficiency programs, and how they can be applied to low-income solar programs. Topics covered include how programs can be tailored to different segments of the low-income population, such as multifamily vs. single-family housing, as well as what obstacles have been encountered and what new solutions are proposed.
Clean Energy Group’s Resilient Power Project is kicking off a series of presentations featuring experts from around the solar+storage industry. In this webinar, guest speakers from JLM Energy discussed their experiences in the solar+storage market, new product offerings, and where they see opportunities for solar+storage today and in the future.
The webinar explained how solar+storage can benefit low- and moderate-income communities and described a variety of policy tools for doing so, including grants, rebates, utility procurement standards, financing support, opening markets, and soft cost reductions.
Learn how to benchmark and compare very different distributed energy resources on their ability to supply each grid service. In this webinar, guest speakers from the Grid Modernization Laboratory Consortium discussed the drivers behind this research challenge, the technical problems that need solving, and their progress so far in the areas of energy storage and solar PV.
In late-2016, both Illinois and Michigan strengthened and extended their RPSs. In this webinar, Brian Granahan of the Illinois Power Agency and Katie Trachsel of the Michigan Public Service Commission described their states’ new laws and explained how the states are preparing for implementation.
In this webinar hosted by CESA’s Energy Storage Technology Advancement Partnership (ESTAP), Dan Borneo and Ben Schenkman from Sandia National Laboratories discussed how to successfully construct an energy storage project that is safe, reliable and cost effective.
In this webinar, Taber Allison of the American Wind Wildlife Institute described the current state of knowledge of wind turbine interactions with wildlife, and explained the key issues that were discussed at the December 2016 national Wind Wildlife Research Meeting.
A solar+storage microgrid in American Samoa provides clean, resilient and affordable power to the island’s residents. In this webinar, guest speakers from EPA, Solar City, and the American Samoa Power Authority discussed the microgrid project.
CESA’s new report is designed to inform state and municipal officials who are developing or revising solar standards and requirements. In this webinar, report authors provided an overview of the guide and addressed questions from the audience.
