Solar+Storage Fire Safety Training: Single and Multifamily Residential
Tuesday, January 12, 2021 @ 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM ET
The solar PV and battery storage industry in the United States is rapidly growing, with more systems being installed each year. As with any technology, solar PV and battery storage systems are not without safety concerns. Although battery system failures are rare, firefighters need to be prepared when something unexpected does happen or a fire occurs where batteries are located. Unfortunately, battery storage safety training opportunities are limited. As the battery storage industry continues to grow, it’s vital that firefighters and building managers are equipped with the knowledge they need to respond to emergencies when batteries are involved.
This webinar, hosted by Clean Energy Group, focused on solar and battery response safety for single and multifamily residential projects. Additional webinars in this three-part series will focus on commercial and large-scale projects. Guest speaker Captain Richard Birt is a 30 year veteran of the fire service. Captain Birt’s Solar and Fire Education curriculum has already trained over 1,000 firefighters in California.
