Sharing Solar Benefits with Multifamily Renters: A Mississippi Case Study
Wednesday, October 30, 2024 @ 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM ET
Studies have shown that renters are just as interested in going solar as homeowners, but they often face significant barriers to accessing the benefits of solar. This webinar dove into a pioneering multifamily solar project in Jackson, Mississippi, that implemented an innovative technology solution to provide direct benefits to apartment residents who have historically been left out of the clean energy transition. The project utilized SolShare, a technology from Allume Energy that is specifically designed to deliver onsite solar energy directly to individual renters in multifamily buildings.
The webinar featured insights from the project’s journey and testimonials from the stakeholders involved, including why the multifamily property owner was motivated to implement shared solar, how SolShare was incorporated to ensure tenant benefits through solar access and reduced utility bills, and regulatory efforts to bring the project to life.
