Evaluation of the Stringency and Design of RPSs
Thursday, October 18, 2018 @ 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM ET
Four academic researchers recently published in Nature Energy an “Empirical Evaluation of the Stringency and Design of Renewable Portfolio Standards.” This study measured the stringency of different state RPSs and showed “how changes in RPS policy design features relate to different market outcomes.” The authors concluded that “it is not the mere presence of an RPS but its particular design features that matter.” The “analysis highlights which of these features are most critical and for which types of in-state renewable energy development.”
In this webinar, authors Sanya Carley and Nikos Zirogiannis of the Indiana University School of Public and Environmental Affairs discussed the study’s methodology and findings.
This webinar was presented by the Clean Energy States Alliance (CESA) for the RPS Collaborative.
