Developing an Energy Storage Project: A Technical Perspective

Wednesday, March 8, 2017 @ 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM

As more energy storage projects are being implemented, it is important to discuss how to successfully construct a project that is safe, reliable and cost effective. In this webinar, Dan Borneo and Ben Schenkman from Sandia National Laboratories presented lessons learned from the portfolio of projects that Sandia is involved with. Panelists discussed project initiation, application determination, power and energy requirements, design, and installation, as well as other aspects of a successful energy storage project such as commissioning, system testing, codes and standards, data acquisition, and operations. This presentation was followed by a Q&A with the audience.

Presenters:

  • Dan Borneo, Sandia National Laboratories
  • Ben Schenkman, Sandia National Laboratories

Moderator: Todd Olinsky-Paul, Clean Energy States Alliance (CESA)

This webinar was a presentation of the Energy Storage Technology Advancement Partnership (ESTAP). ESTAP is supported by the U.S. Department of Energy Office of Electricity and Sandia National Laboratories, and is managed by CESA.
