CEG Webinar: New Jersey’s Energy Resilience Bank
Wednesday, October 29, 2014 @ 1:00 PM - 2:30 PM
This webinar, presented by Clean Energy Group’s Resilient Power Project, featured a discussion on New Jersey’s recently created “Energy Resilience Bank (ERB).” Designed as a response to SuperStorm Sandy, which knocked out electric power to over 8 million people in the region, the ERB will provide grants and loans to municipalities and small businesses, to help them install clean resilient power technologies at critical facilities such as shelters, fueling stations, and fire stations. The bank’s first solicitation will be for resilient power projects at water and wastewater treatment facilities, with solicitations for other types of critical facilities to follow. ERB director Mitch Carpen and deputy director Thomas Walker presented information about the bank and the funding opportunities it will offer. The webinar also featured Clean Energy Group president Lew Milford and project director Todd Olinsky-Paul, who discussed the bank and other resilient power efforts around the region.
