CEG Webinar: New Initiatives in Community Resilient Power

Clean Energy Group (CEG) hosted a webinar on Community Resilient Power as part of its Resilient Power Project (www.resilient-power.org).

Multifamily affordable housing owners and developers are beginning to develop projects that provide reliable, resilient power that can withstand storms and protect low income and vulnerable populations during power outages.

Clean, distributed generation, such as solar PV, is being integrated with energy storage and combined with energy efficiency measures to provide resilient power. For these projects, only a modest amount of resilient power may be needed to power critical electric loads for essential lighting, air conditioning and medical/communications.

Rob Sanders of Clean Energy Group, Jared Lang of National Housing Trust, and Tom Osdoba of Enterprise Community Partners discussed the lessons learned in the early development of community resilient power projects in New York City, Washington DC and throughout the country.
