Batteries 101, Part 3: Safety and Environmental Considerations for Battery Energy Storage in Massachusetts
Thursday, July 11, 2024 @ 12:00 PM - 1:30 PM ET
Lithium-ion battery projects must adhere to strict fire safety and environmental guidelines to mitigate potential risks. Presenters in this session discussed fire codes, environmental considerations, and security considerations that municipalities and planners should explore when designing a battery storage project in their communities.
This webinar is the third in a four-part series on battery energy storage in Massachusetts. Part 3 follows Batteries 101, Part 1, An Introduction to Energy Storage and Massachusetts’ Battery Storage Programs and Policies and Batteries 101, Part 2: Benefits and Applications of Battery Energy Storage in Massachusetts. The final webinar of this four-part series will delve more deeply into specific energy storage topics including siting, permitting, planning and zoning.
This webinar series is open to the general public, but questions from Massachusetts municipal officials and residents will be prioritized during the question and discussion portion of each event.
