On May 16-17 the Sacramento Municipal Utility District (SMUD) hosted their annual solar regatta. The regatta was open to middle schools, high schools and universities in Northern California. This competition provided a chance for students to learn about physics, electricity, renewable energy, solar power and engineering, in addition to developing teambuilding and communication skills.
