New York is taking its first major step toward reaching the state’s 1.5-gigwatt energy storage target by 2025. Governor Andrew Cuomo announced $40 million in funding to support the development of 50 megawatts of storage paired with solar. The incentive program will be targeted toward the commercial and industrial sector and community solar projects, with the aim of reducing barriers such as customer acquisition, identifying project locations, and interconnection.
