In mid-September, the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities (BPU) unanimously approved the solicitation of 1100 megawatts of offshore wind capacity. This is the largest single-state offshore wind solicitation to date and will support New Jersey’s goal of 3500 megawatts of offshore wind by 2030.

The BPU is currently accepting comments on its plans for Offshore Wind Renewable Energy Certificates (ORECs), due October 19. Additionally, the New Jersey Economic Development Authority has issued an Request for Ideas (RFI) on offshore wind port infrastructure and supply chain development, due October 15.
