In June 2019, the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities awarded the state’s first-ever offshore wind contract to Ørsted for a 1100 MW project. This is the single largest offshore wind award in the country. The project is expected to generate $1.7 billion in economic benefits to the state, including the creation of 15,000 jobs. This is a significant step towards meeting New Jersey’s goal of 3500 MW of offshore wind by 2030 and achieving 100% clean energy by 2050. Read more here.
