CESA Comments to Treasury on the Role of State Agencies in IRA Implementation
Warren Leon, Vero Bourg-Meyer | Clean Energy States Alliance
CESA submitted comments to the U.S. Department of the Treasury and the Internal Revenue Service pertaining to implementing the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022, and the role of state energy agencies in helping Treasury define and implement the IRA guidelines from Treasury.
In these comments, CESA argues that Treasury should actively engage with state energy agencies nationwide to receive feedback and information on interactions with state clean energy policies and programs. CESA also provides several process-based recommendations by which Treasury can seek and consider the states’ feedback and input, including setting up a joint liaison office with the Department of Energy to coordinate with state energy agencies and address their questions.
The comments were submitted from the CESA staff and do not necessarily reflect the views of individual CESA member organizations.
