The Massachusetts Department of Energy Resources (MassDOER) has released two new guides for Massachusetts residents interested in going solar.

For condominium residents interested in pursuing solar PV, DOER has developed A Solar Guide for Residents and Condominium Associations in Massachusetts. This guide was developed in conjunction with the City of Cambridge through Rooftop Solar Challenge II.

For residents interested in learning more about how to finance their solar PV systems, DOER has developed A Massachusetts Homeowner’s Guide to Solar Financing: Leases, Loans and PPAs. This free guide offers a comparison of the advantages and disadvantages of each option, as well as a look at how they compare to a cash purchase. In addition, the guide features a set of questions for Massachusetts homeowners to ask during the decision-making process, and clarifies the key financing terms that homeowners should be familiar with in order to make an informed decision. This guide is a modification of the original guide CESA published in February 2015, A Homeowner’s Guide to Solar Financing: Leases, Loans and PPAs.

Additional resources and information related to solar power in Massachusetts are available on MassDOER's website.
